On March 8th, Mark and I conducted our first interview for Operator 13 Productions’ next project Monsters, Martians and Mad Scientists: Horror in the Atomic Age.
For our inaugural interview, we were extremely fortunate to spend a delightful morning with David Hedison, star of The Fly (1958).
Mr. Hedison was extremely insightful while discussing making The Fly as well as the socio-political implications of living in 1950′s America. Our interview covered everything from working with Patricia Owens and wearing the Fly mask to McCarthyism and inviting Republicans to dinner.
This was the perfect kick-off for our new project, and a special thrill for me, as The Fly is my favorite Atomic Age horror film. We are extremely excited to continue the project and to share it with other fans of Atomic Age films.

One of my favorites as well.
